2011 Electricity Statement of Opportunities & Power System Adequacy Workshop

Tim George and Mark Miller, AEMO’s Executive General Managers for Planning and System Operations, invite you to attend a workshop to discuss the contents and provide feedback on the 2011 Electricity Statement of Opportunities (ESOO) and Power System Adequacy (PSA) documents.

The workshop is being held not only to provide you with the opportunity to ask questions about the documents, but also so you can tell us what you think of them.  We appreciate your feedback as it gives us our most important guide to how we should continue to develop our documents. For example, was this year’s inclusion of the impact of the Australian Government’s Clean Energy Future Plan in the 3-10 year ESOO (investment focus) helpful?

The workshop will cover:

• A high level overview of each the documents presented by AEMO
• Open discussion in response to questions and feedback from the floor
• Questions on content of the ESOO and the PSA
• Feedback on the structure of the two documents
• Other feedback
• Summary and conclusion

The workshop will be held via video conference from AEMO Offices in Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide and external sites in Hobart and Canberra, on Thursday, 27 October from 10.00am to 11.30am (AEDT).  You are welcome to arrive up to 20 minutes early for coffee and to help us make a prompt start.
