Network and FCAS Constraints in the NEM

This two-day workshop offers participants an understanding of how and why Constraints are used to manage the power system and the effect they may have on the market. You’ll also meet other industry people who work in similar roles and share your experiences with them.

This course is designed for industry workers who want a working-level understanding of Constraints and their impact on the NEM.
Broadly, the course looks to answer the following questions:

  • What are Network and FCAS constraints?
  • What are the network characteristics that determine constraints?
  • How are constraints derived and formulated?
  • What effect do constraints have on dispatch outcomes?
  • Where can I go to find out more about how particular constraints affect my organisation?

You will also meet and share experiences with other people in the industry.
