Overview of the Victorian Gas Market (DWGM)

This is the ideal course for newcomers to the Victorian Gas Market, also known as the Declared Wholesale Gas Market (DWGM). It is also suited to current employees looking to expand their general knowledge of this market.

In this one day workshop, we aim to provide attendees with a basic yet broad understanding of how the DWGM works.

    • Basic concepts in market design and key processes for its operation;
    • The fundamentals of natural gas;
    • Gas system operations, scheduling and pricing
    • Concepts such as Authorised Maximum Daily Quantity;
    • How the market is settled;
    • AEMO’s role in the operation of the DWGM;
    • The roles of the different categories of participants and the inter-relationships between them.
