Understanding MSATS (Market Settlement And Transfer Solution)

This 2-day face-to-face training course explains how and why MSATS works the way that it does. The course aims to improve knowledge of MSATS functionality, in the context of the business processes it supports, particularly connection point transfers and the impact they have on NEM settlement energy values.

Designed for employees of the electricity supply industry who work with and require an understanding of MSATS, including staff responsible for:

  • Retail transfer and settlement;
  • The maintenance of NMI and metering-level standing data;
  • The management of metering data;
  • MSATS IT support, who seek a better understanding of the business process and the data model.

Broadly, the course looks to answer the following questions:

  • How can I use MSATS more effectively for my organisation?
  • What is the MSATS data structure and format?
  • What are the business processes that I need to be aware of?
  • Where do I fit in and what roles do other participants play in the process?
  • How do I use MSATS reports to get the information I need?

The course is presented by AEMO staff who are experts in MSATS and the surrounding business processes. You will also meet and share experiences with other people in the industry .
