Non-Scheduled Generation Data - filename: public_next_day_actual_gen_*.csv (approx. size 600Kb)

The metered power outputs from most large non-scheduled generating units and generating systems are provided to AEMO in real time to assist in maintaining the security of the power system. The output values in these files are sampled from SCADA at 5-minute intervals and reported under the column headed 'MWH_READING'. Note that these figures should be read as instantaneous power in MW rather than MWh. They may be used to estimate energy production, but are not the same as the half-hourly energy metering results used to determine market settlements. (Please see note)

This file is generated each week at around 0300hrs on Sundays and otherwise on an ad hoc basis if any manual price adjustments occur. Where there are multiple files created for the same week due to price adjustments, the file with the latest #REPORT_DATETIME takes precedence.

Volume Weighted FCAS Prices - filename: vwa_fcas_prices_*.csv (approx. size 30Kb)

In response to a request from the Australian Financial Markets Association (AFMA), on behalf of Market Participants, AEMO has agreed to calculate and publish a system volume weighted average (VWA) half-hour price for each Frequency Control Ancillary Service (FCAS) to assist participants in managing their risks. The Volume-Weighted Average half-hour prices will be determined on a system wide basis to correlate with the exposure of participants (recovery of FCAS payments is on NEM wide basis) and published once per day for each of the half hour periods in the previous trading day.

For example, for the Regulation Lower FCAS service, the system volume weighted average price for a half hour period would be equal to the NEM wide procurement costs for Regulation Lower FCAS for a half hour period divided by the total enabled volume for the corresponding half hour period.

  • Current files - 2 month rolling window
  • Archive files - currently no archive available

Medium Term PASA Region Availability filename: public_mtpasaregionavailability_*.csv (approx. size 0.4Mb)

This report file contains, for each region and each day over the current MT PASA run timeframe (next 104 weeks, starting Sunday):

  • the region-aggregate offered MT PASA Availability for all scheduled generating units registered on that day; and
  • the latest date time an MT PASA offer was submitted for any scheduled generating unit for that region and day

The aggregated data is derived solely from the MT PASA offers provided by Scheduled Generators under clause 3.7.2 (d)(1) of the National Electricity Rules. If no MT PASA offer exists for a particular week, the aggregation calculation uses the latest MT PASA offer from the previous week.

The report is updated at 0900, 1200, 1500 and 1800 hrs EST each day (excluding Sundays), and published around 18 minutes later.
The report will assist Scheduled Generators in meeting their obligations under the insider trading provisions of the Commonwealth Corporations Act 1989, by allowing them to provide timely disclosure of the implications of their generation outage plans prior to seeking financial cover through securities dealings.

Note:

The National Electricity Market registration classifications of Anglesea Power Station Unit 1 (dispatchable unit ID: APS) and Yarwun Power Station Unit1 (dispatchable unit ID: YARWUN_1) are market non-scheduled generating units. However, it is a condition of the registration of these units that the Registered Participants comply with some of the obligations of a Scheduled Generator. Both units are dispatched as scheduled generating units with respect to their dispatch offers, targets and generation outputs. Accordingly, information about APS and YARWUN_1 is reported as scheduled generating units information.

The Tumut 3 Pumps (dispatchable unit ID: SNOWYP) are not classified as scheduled load in the National Electricity Market. However, they are required to comply with some of the obligations of a Market Customer in respect of a scheduled load. The Tumut 3 Pumps are dispatched as if they were scheduled loads with respect to their dispatch bids, targets and consumption. Accordingly, information about SNOWYP is reported as market scheduled load information.
