AEMO is responsible for managing the security of the National Electricity Market (NEM). This entails dispatch of generation within security constraints and the procurement of ancillary services.
Network Support and Control Ancillary Services (NSCAS) are a non-market ancillary service that may be procured by AEMO or Transmission Network Service Providers (TNSPs) to maintain power system security and reliability or to increase the power transfer capability of the transmission network.
AEMO would like to inform all National Electricity Market Rules Participants, Intending Participants and interested parties that AEMO has concluded the consultation on Dispatch Guidelines in respect of Network Support and Control Ancillary Services (NSCAS Dispatch Guidelines).
This Rules Consultation has been prepared for the consultation required for the preparation of the Guidelines for Dispatch of Network Support and Control Ancillary Services (NSCAS Dispatch Guidelines), which are required by National Electricity Amendment (Network Support and Control Ancillary Services) Rule 2011 No.2, which commences on 5 April 2012.
This consultation was conducted under clause 3.11.5(b) of the National Electricity Rules (Rules) in accordance with the Rules consultation requirements detailed in clause 8.9 of the Rules.”
