Annual Planning Reports

AEMO produces transmission planning information for Victoria and South Australia.  This information is contained in Victorian Annual Planning Report (VAPR), the Victorian Vision 2030 report, and the South Australian Supply and Demand Outlook (SASDO). Current and historical reports are available for download on this page.

 Victorian Annual Planning Report

The Victorian Annual Planning Report (VAPR) is prepared by AEMO for the Victorian electricity Declared Shared Network (electricity DSN) and the gas Declared Transmission System (gas DTS). This report provides:

- forecasts for energy demand and supply

- identified future development needs for both the electricity DSN the gas DTS

Victorian Vision 2030

In 2005 VENCorp produced Vision 2030, which provided a 25 year vision for Victoria's energy transmission networks. The Vision 2030 Update was published on 1 May 2009. It follows the same structure and approach as the original document, but the content has been updated to account for developments in factors driving transmission infrastructure investment, particularly action on climate change.

South Australian Supply and Demand Outlook

The South Australian Supply and Demand Outlook  (SASDO) is a report prepared by AEMO about the current state and future development of South Australian electricity supplies. The SASDO provides information about:

- Forecast and historical  generation and electrical energy and maximum demand

- Future electricity supply options and an assessment of future generation fuel availability

The SASDO and ElectraNet’s Annual Planning Report are complementary documents.  Together they comprise the information required under Section 5.6.2A of the National Electricity Rules.

AEMO advises that an error in table 2-8 and the corresponding figure 2-14 has been amended since initial web-publication on the 29th June, and apologises for any inconvenience this may have caused.
