2010 National Transmission Network Development Plan Consultation

In December 2010 AEMO published its first National Transmission Network Development Plan (NTNDP). The NTNDP provides AEMO’s view of the efficient development of the national transmission grid for a planning horizon covering the next 20 years under a range of scenarios.
The NTNDP is intended to be a key planning resource for the electricity industry and AEMO consulted extensively with stakeholders in developing the 2010 NTNDP.

On 29 January 2010 AEMO released a NTNDP consultation paper inviting stakeholder comments on the issues addressed in the consultation paper, which include the scope and purpose of the NTNDP, the proposed methodologies and the input data that AEMO is considering.

The ‘NTNDP Modelling Assumptions: Supply Input Spreadsheets’ file contains the draft inputs which were consulted on. The final inputs used in the modelling are available at http://www.aemo.com.au/planning/2010ntndp_cd/home.htm.

The consultation closed on 12 March 2010; the submissions received from stakeholders and a report summarising them are available below.
